La Sociedad Nacional de Minería, Petróleo y Energía - SNMPE, es una organización empresarial constituida como una Asociación Civil sin fines de lucro, que agremia a las personas jurídicas vinculadas a la actividad minera, petrolera y eléctrica. Su misión es operar en el marco de la legislación vigente en el país, trabajar para contribuir con el desarrollo sostenible del país y apoyar al Estado en todo lo que se refiere a la promoción de la imagen del Perú como un país que cuenta con un amplio potencial en las áreas minera, hidrocarburífera y eléctrica.
La Sociedad tiene como fines principales: fomentar el desarrollo de las actividades minera, petrolera y energética y promover el aprovechamiento sostenible de los recursos naturales, prestando especial atención a la conservación del medio ambiente y el desarrollo social, dentro de un respeto pleno a la legislación vigente, y buscando medios para hacerla cada vez más competitiva.

In English:
The National Society of Mining, Petroleum and Energy, SNMPE, is an organization recognized as a Civil Non-lucrative Association, that guilds juridical people who have contact with mining, petroleum and energy activities. Its mission is to operate within the current legislation in the country, to work in order to contribute to the sustainability development of the country and to support the State in everything that refers to the promotion of Peru’s image as a country which counts with an ample potential in the mining, hydrocarbon and electrical areas.
The Society has as its final principals to encourage the development of mining, petroleum and energy activities and to promote the sustainable advantage of natural resources, paying special attention to the conservation of the environment and social development within the total respect of the current legislation, and to find means to make it more competitive.
